At home cooking

Money has been a little tight lately with the holidays coming so instead of going out, I have been cooking things I wouldn’t normally cook.  Tonight for dinner is….wait for it….wait for it…

Philly Cheesesteaks
1 package Gardein beefless tips, cut into strips
½ cup veggie broth
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp onion power
2 tbsp soy sauce
Pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and marinate for a half hour or so.  Put everything in a frying pan and sauté until heated and most of the liquid has absorbed.  If it is taking too long, dump out some more liquid.

In the meantime cut 1 large onion into strips and sauté in a separate pan until translucent.  Slice 1 small green pepper and sauté with onion.

Put ‘steak’ and onions on rolls.  Add American cheese and broil until cheese is melted.  (or use Wiz).  To make this vegan just use vegan cheddar such as Daiya.

So delicious!
